Sugar: The Bitter Truth

I don't remember where I got this link, but this should be required watching for everyone. It's long, but well-worth the time and talks about the evils of sugars, mainly fructose and its derivatives such as the ubiquitous high fructose corn syrup. The professor hits on one of my pet peeves of kids drinking things like juice constantly under the guise that it's healthy, but goes into how bad it is at a depth even I didn't guess.

I still think high fructose corn syrup is worse than plain sugar, but he's not saying anything that I didn't already believe. *sigh* Sugar is so tasty and happy-making though. :'(

Well, he does discuss that they use more of it despite it being sweeter and that they put it into everything. Them being equally bad is more about the actual chemical reactions going on in the body, because it's the same one with either sugar.

Actually, from the research I have done, high fructose sugar is even worse when it comes to signaling fullness. Fortunately, Adrian and I have already done the work to kick it out of our diets as much as possible.

Now I really need to cut back on my intake of plain sugar. Get myself back to where small amounts are detectable and satisfying again. I use way too much in my coffee these days. :/
