My kid is a nut. I was feeling pretty crappy and really needed to take a bath, so I hauled him and some toys in the bathroom and did so. He was fascinated by the water, so I grabbed a couple of his floating bath toys and he went to town. One would allow water in when pushed under the surface and then drain when pulled out, so he kept filling that one up and then chewing on it or splashing with it. He ended up soaked from head to toe, and though we keep it around 65 F in here, he didn't even act cold. I was freezing without clothes on, and he, soaked, was happy as a clam.

It was hilarious to watch him and it kept him entertained, so I'll definitely do this in the future. I'll just take his clothes off first next time.

Terran never seems to be cold, ever. Even when he was a newborn getting bathed, he never cried from cold. It's weird. But if he's in the room while I'm taking a bath, he tries to climb into the tub. Between him and the dog coming in to drink my bathwater, I have to lock myself into the bathroom!

It's funny how that works when all parenting things have all sorts of dire warnings about making sure your baby doesn't get cold. Normally, I do shut the door when I'm taking a bath, as Salem drinks the water too (though that's funny-he dips a paw in and then licks it off) and Freya knocks the things I line up on the side of the tub into the water.

I think that children are impervious to cold until a certain age. Well, the might really be cold...but they aren't able to notice it. That's both good and bad. Mom loves to tell the tale of my getting away from her. She found me later out sitting in the snow in just my diaper. I was throwing snow and rolling and happy as can be.
