I've been meaning to mention that at some point in the last week, Enoch got his second tooth. This information became obsolete today, though. When we woke up this afternoon (he woke up freaking early and I made us both go back to sleep after I took my pain pills. Mmmm, wonderful pain-free sleep) and I was messing around in his mouth-lo and behold! He had both outer incisors in the top of his mouth. And now Eric has just discovered an outer incisor on the bottom. Hilariously enough, the second tooth is no longer visible, either because of the swelling from the incisor next to it or it has receded. So in the course of about 12 hours, he went from two teeth to four or five. Nuts. No wonder he was fussy last night.

I've been wracking my brains for an idea of what sort of exercise to do that isn't going to kill my joints and leave me in pain when I'm not exercising. The only idea I've been able to come up with is water aerobics. It being in the middle of winter, more specifically the worst winter we've had in this area in over 20 years, it makes water aerobics outside rather hard. So I bit the bullet and Enoch and I have joined a gym. The extra fee for him made me wince, but then when I considered it in the light of $15/month for up to 60 hours of childcare, it was a lot more palatable.

I went for the first time yesterday despite the class I need to go to being at evil o' clock. It felt wonderful while doing it, but owwwww. After I came home and took a nap, I was in agony. I'm still sore today, but feeling much better, so I'm toying with the idea of going again tomorrow. We'll see. I'm definitely going to make myself go twice a week and maybe see about doing yoga in the afternoon some other day. I just wish exercise wasn't so painful for me now. Yeah, I'd get the usual unused muscle pains and stuff when I'd start exercising when younger, but that almost felt good in a way. The pain I end up in now is nothing but agony.

Enoch just turned Hummin off while Eric was in the middle of a comment. Now Eric feels my pain.

Terran turns my computer off in the middle of stuff ALL THE TIME. It drives me NUTS.

Yahoo! for the teeth. It's so nice to suddenly have an excuse for when they are being insufferable.

Hope the water aerobics help more than they hurt. Is exercise supposed to help with the fibro at all? Seems like yoga, with all the stretching and relaxing, could be really good for you.

Hah! And just since writing this entry, I'm now starting to feel another bump on the top part of his gums. He's had ever reason to be fussy!

Exercise is supposed to help, but whenever I've done it regularly in the past, I've ended up in a lot more pain and I eventually stop. I'm still not in any more pain than I was earlier, but when Enoch went down for a nap, I had to as well, and then laid in bed for another hour and a half. I guess maybe I need to try just half a class at a time for now, because as much as I need to exercise, I can't afford to be out for the count for at least two days afterwards. I have too much to do!

After Christian turning off my computer in the middle of things one too many times, my brother Bill rigged our computer to ask you if you want to turn off the computer whenever the button is pushed (if pushed for longer than 7 seconds it will turn off anyway though just in case I need to restart it) Bill also put in CDRom-Lock so that Christian wouldn't take out my CD's and play with them. I haven't had a problem with Christian and my computer for a while.

We have separate computers. I set Arcadia up that way months ago, but Hummin had previously escaped the wrath of Enoch. I've fixed it now, but it gave me a chance to to laugh at Eric for having to go through the same thing I did.

That's good. Too bad there isn't a way to make sure your keys aren't pressed by little fingers...maybe if they could identify fingerprints!

Yeah, Lilly's done that to me a ton. But the button on my tower is dumb because it pokes out, so it's easy to hit accidentally. I've even done it a few times myself when my foot has brushed past. I need an concave button or something.

Nope, you just need to change some settings. On your desktop, right click, go to Properties, go to Screen Saver, go to Power, then Advanced. There's a pull-down box that has several different settings as to what your power button does when pressed. Pick the one you want (I currently have mine set to "Do nothing") and voila!

Thank you forever!!!!

Ferris Bueller you're my hero! (Oops! I almost wrote you actual full name!)

Seriously though, why did no one ever tell me that before? Jake didn't even know you could do that! It makes me so happy!!!! *squee!*

I loved aqua aerobics. Great low impact. Make sure that you stretch before and afterwards, really pushing the stretching afterwards. The yoga will help, certainly. I have a yoga video I love: 'AM/PM Yoga for weight loss'. Gaiam is the producer (they make a lot of yoga and pilates videos), and you can likely find it at Blockbuster to try it out and see if you like it. I know Netflix has it.

Keep up the good work. Even with your challenges, as long as you begin slowly, and don't push to major pain, you'll see the benefit, even if you feel like you're not getting as much out of it as other folks. Exercise is a habit. And it takes at least a month of consistancy to either make or break a habit. ;)

Thanks for the encouragement! I need to experiment and figure out what's going to work for me. Going to a full class knocked me out for two and a half days. I'm going to keep trying though.
